Welcome

The Bujinkan Birmingham Dojo is part of the International Bujinkan Dojo (武神館 道場) based in Noda-shi, Japan and was established in January 2000 by Kypros Charalambous 4th Dan Shidoshi-Ho and is currently based in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

We provide a friendly atmosphere for seasoned, as well as beginning martial arts practitioners.
The Bujnkan Birmingham Dojo is a small, non-commercial dojo. We get together to train once a week. Experienced Bujinkan practitioners and new students interested in starting out are always welcome to join us.

We provide a safe, friendly and non-competitive environment in which students are treated as individuals and allowed to progress at their own pace.

Both men and women are welcome. The minimum age for training is 18 years, but exceptions will be made for people as young as 15 provided they are physically, mentally and emotionally mature enough to handle the training and the class environment.

Our members study a system of martial arts called Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu.

The Bujinkan Dojo is an international association founded and directed by Masaaki Hatsumi (初見良昭), Soke.
The Bujinkan system has deep roots in Japan's Feudal past. Incorporated into this system are nine ancient martial traditions, which have been passed down from generation to generation for close to 1000 years.

The emphasis of these traditions is spiritual and physical preservation. Moreover the essence of these traditions are explained from a historical perspective and are applied in a modern context. Thus extremely diverse sets of self-protection skills are covered in this art.

It's function is to transmit the teachings of nine Koryu-ha (ancient martial streams) of which Hatsumi Sensei holds the title of Soke (patriarch or family head).

On this site you will find information on the Bujinkan Birmingham Dojo , as well as, news, events, articles and links to other dojo.
